Privacy Policy for Family Locator Phone Location

This Privacy Policy explains how MobilMinds applications ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, stores, and protects information when you use the Android app Family Locator: Phone Location (package name: com.phonelocation.share.familylocator) and related services (the "App" or "Service").

The App is designed for transparent, consent-based family location sharing. It does not support secret tracking, stalking, or monitoring without consent. Each user must grant the required permissions and can stop location sharing at any time.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the App and the permissions you grant, we may collect the following categories of information.

1.1 Location Data

When you enable location sharing, we collect location information such as:

• Precise location, including GPS-based latitude and longitude;
• Approximate location based on network, Wi-Fi, IP address, or device settings;
• Location timestamps and location update status;
• Last known location and movement/location update information used to show location on a map;
• Online, offline, and last seen status when used for family coordination features.

Background location: If you allow background location permission, the App may collect location data when the App is closed, minimized, running in the background, or not actively in use. This is used only to provide the App's core real-time family location sharing and live map features.

We do not use precise location permission data for advertising, and we do not sell location data.

1.2 Account, Profile, and Group Information

When you create or join a family group, we may collect information needed to operate your account and group, such as:

• Name, display name, profile name, or nickname;
• Email address, phone number, user ID, or authentication identifier, if used for login, account recovery, or invitations;
• Profile photo or avatar, if you choose to add one;
• Family group name, group ID, invite link, invite code, QR code, membership status, and group member relationships;
• Settings and preferences, including whether location sharing is turned on or off.

1.3 Device, App, Diagnostics, and Usage Information

We and our service providers may collect technical information used to run, secure, analyze, and improve the App, including:

• Device model, operating system version, app version, language, time zone, and general region;
• Device or other identifiers, such as advertising ID, Firebase installation ID, instance ID, or similar identifiers;
• IP address, network information, crash logs, performance data, diagnostics, and error reports;
• App interactions, screens viewed, feature usage, taps, and session information;
• Advertising and in-app purchase related information where applicable.

1.4 Camera, Photos, Files, Contacts, and Notifications

The App may request additional permissions only when needed for a feature:

• Camera: May be used to scan a QR invitation code or to let you add a profile image. We do not secretly record photos or videos.
• Photos, media, or files: May be used if you choose to upload or select a profile image or save/share an invitation image.
• Contacts: May be used only if you choose to invite family members from your contacts. We do not publish your contacts without permission.
• Notifications: May be used to send location sharing, group, invitation, safety, status, or service-related alerts.

If a feature is not used, the related permission may not be requested. You can manage permissions in your Android device settings.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information described above for the following purposes:

• To provide real-time family location sharing and live map features;
• To show your location, last known location, online/last seen status, and movement updates to selected family group members;
• To create and manage family groups, invite codes, links, QR codes, and memberships;
• To authenticate users, maintain accounts, and provide account support;
• To send service notifications, location updates, and group-related alerts;
• To prevent misuse, unauthorized tracking, fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations of our policies;
• To improve performance, fix bugs, analyze crashes, and understand how the App is used;
• To provide ads, measure ad performance, and manage in-app purchases, where applicable, using advertising SDKs. We do not provide precise GPS permission data to advertising partners.

3. How Location Sharing Works

• Location sharing starts only after you grant location permission and enable or use a location sharing feature.
• Your location may be visible to members of the family group you create or join.
• You should join or invite only trusted family members or people with whom you want to share your location.
• You can stop sharing your location at any time through the App, by leaving a group, by disabling location sharing, or by revoking location permission in Android settings.
• If background location is enabled, the App may continue updating your location when the App is closed or not in use so that the live map and family location features continue working.

4. How We Share Information

We may share information in the following ways:

• With your selected family group members: Your location, last known location, display name, profile image, online/last seen status, and group-related information may be visible to the members of groups you create or join.
• With service providers: We may use trusted service providers to host data, authenticate users, send notifications, show maps, analyze app performance, deliver ads, process purchases, and monitor crashes. These providers process information on our behalf or according to their own privacy terms where applicable.
• For legal and safety reasons: We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, government request, to protect rights and safety, to investigate abuse, or to enforce our terms.
• Business transfers: If our business is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction with appropriate safeguards.

We do not sell personal and sensitive user data, including location data.

5. Third-Party Services and SDKs

The App may use third-party services that collect or process data to provide app functionality, analytics, crash reporting, maps, ads, purchases, or platform services. These services may include:

Third-party services may collect information such as device identifiers, app interactions, diagnostics, crash logs, IP address, advertising ID, and ad interaction data. Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies and terms.

6. Advertising and Analytics

The App may contain ads and may use analytics tools to understand app performance and usage. Advertising and analytics partners may collect device identifiers, advertising ID, app activity, app interactions, approximate location derived from IP address, crash data, diagnostics, and similar technical information.

We do not provide precise GPS permission data to advertising partners. You can reset or limit your advertising ID and manage ad personalization in your Android or Google settings where available.

7. Data Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the App, maintain accounts and groups, show live and last known location, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and improve security. Location updates and last known location may be retained as needed to provide the live family locator service and may be replaced by newer location updates.

When you delete your account, leave a group, stop sharing, or request deletion, we will delete or de-identify personal information associated with your request within a reasonable time, unless we need to retain certain information for legal, security, fraud prevention, backup, or dispute-resolution purposes.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. Where information is transmitted from the App to our servers or service providers, we use modern transport security such as HTTPS/TLS where supported. No method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Choices and Controls

You have control over your information and permissions:

• Stop location sharing: Turn off location sharing in the App, leave the family group, or revoke location permission in Android settings.
• Background location: Disable "Allow all the time" or background location permission in Android settings.
• Notifications: Turn notifications on or off in Android settings.
• Camera, contacts, photos, and files: Grant or revoke these permissions in Android settings.
• Ads: Manage advertising ID and ad personalization choices in your device or Google settings.
• Access, correction, or deletion: Contact us using the email below to request access, correction, or deletion of your data.

10. Data Deletion Requests

You may request deletion of your account data, group data, profile data, and location data by contacting us at mobilmindsapps@gmail.com. Please include the app name, your account email or phone number if applicable, and enough information for us to identify your account. We may ask you to verify your request before deleting data.

11. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for use by children under 13 without involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate parental consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information without proper consent, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete the information.

Parents or guardians who use the App for family safety or coordination are responsible for ensuring that all family members understand the location sharing feature and that any required consent is obtained under applicable law.

12. International Transfers

Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, where privacy laws may differ. We take steps designed to protect personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

13. Misuse and Unauthorized Tracking

The App must not be used to secretly track another person or to collect location data without that person's knowledge and consent. If you believe the App is being used to track you without consent, revoke the App's permissions, leave any unknown family group, uninstall the App if necessary, and contact us for support.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we update it, we will change the effective date above and post the new Privacy Policy at the same or updated privacy policy URL. Your continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
